Good morning beauties,
In 2016, an estimated 246,660 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 61,000 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer. (Breast cancer.org)
Back in September I had the opportunity to give back to my community in a very special way. I was asked for a second year in a row to donate my time to the American Cancer Society- St. Louis at the Breast Cancer Awareness VIPink event at Union Station! During this magical night I was offering quick makeup touch ups to some of the most beautiful women who where either fighting cancer or in remission. While talking to these ladies I felt such a surge of strength. When applying their eye make up, shaping up their brows or touching up their cheecks I was able to connect with each of them. One lady told me that she never realized how important it was to have eye brows till they where gone. Then when I gave her the mirror she was in shock.
Another woman explained how while she was battling cancer both her husband and son went to great lengths to take care of her. That its been several years since she's been in remission and they still continue to spoil her rotten. Once the evening came to an end I left feeling truly blessed to be part of that event. It showed me how strong we can be when faced with a life altering situation. Below are some of the photos captured of that wonderful night by Annie Eimer Photography.
